At OC Sport Psychology, we help athletes and high performers train their minds just like they train their bodies. Our licensed and experienced sport psychologists and and mental performance consultants work with you to sharpen focus, manage pressure, bounce back from setbacks, and build lasting confidence. Through proven methods like CBT, mindfulness, and performance routines tailored to your sport, we give you the tools to stay consistent, composed, and competitive—on game day and every day.

Performance issues often come from over-focusing rather than lack of focus. This can lead to forcing performance and losing fluidity and timing.

Hesitation in high-pressure moments usually reflects a disconnect between preparation and confidence. Even the most prepared athletes can tighten up if they don’t fully trust their ability to perform.

Many athletes perform well in practice but can’t replicate it in games. This gap often stems from emotional overreactions, under-activation, or distractions during competition. Learning to manage adversity and stay composed helps you adapt and get into rhythm faster.

Think less, play freely. Overthinking and negative self-talk — “mental chatter” — can derail performance. Build an effective internal dialogue. When your self-talk works for you, your performance follows.
